NBSO "An Ode of Joy"

Location: St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave, New Bedford
Description: The concert will be held at 3pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, and there will be General Seating. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that this special performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 featuring the NBSO accompanied by the Rhode Island Concert Chorus and guest soloists will be a part of the international calendar of events commemorating the 400th Anniversary of the founding of Quebec City by Samuel de Champlain in 1608. Quebec embraces the world in its year-long celebration and holds deep meaning for the many descendent families now living in the SouthCoast. St. Anthony of Padua Church stands as the living monument to the Franco-American culture. The arch above the main entrance bears this inscription in Latin: “The working people of Saint Anthony’s have built a temple to the Lord.”
